When Wilma was born, she was doubly special, as she came out as a twin to Francis Virgil and Bertha Elizabeth Sumner Warden on October 11, 1936. Wilma and her five other siblings all made their home on a small country farm which was located just north of Wann. She graduated high school from Copan High School in 1954.

In 1960 she took a job with the Post Office until retiring in 1990. She was the clerk everyone loved to say hello too. Once she retired she spent her time taking care of Catherine and Vance Gaut.

Wilma was greeted in heaven by her beloved husband of 65 years, Darrel Gaut, her parents, Francis and Bertha Warden, her in-laws, Anderson and Mildred Gaut, daughter Karen Gaut, two brothers, Arnold and Bob Warden, two sisters, Ylita Thomason and Wilda Featherston.
