Verna Alleman

Verna Rae Alleman, 85, of Caney, formerly Blackfoot Idaho, passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2016, at Guest Home Estate, Caney, after a long and happy life.

Verna Rae Allison was born January 3, 1931, at Caney, Kansas, sixth of six children born to William Henderson Allison and Alta Georgia [[][[]]Grimes] Allison. She was raised in Caney, attending schools there. On August 19, 1949, in Neodesha, Kansas, she married Robert Alleman. To this union was born four children, Matthew, Bradley, Tracy, and Dru.

Verna Rae was a homemaker, enjoying cooking, reading, spending time with family, and being outdoors enjoying nature. She was a member of the Episcopal church in Minneapolis, MN. She will be remembered for her love of life, her shopping adventures, and her cross-country sight-seeing excursions. She will be truly missed.

She is survived by her children Bradley (Kathy) Alleman, Blackfoot, Idaho, daughter Tracy Chellen of Chaska, MN, and daughter Dru (husband Kevin) Finnigan of West Port, Washington; six grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert (1983), her parents, son Matthew, and her siblings.

Following her wishes, cremation has taken place under the care of Potts Chapel Funeral Home, Caney. Private family services will take place at a later date. Inurnment will be in Neodesha Cemetery, next to her husband Robert.
