Sharon Reitz, 72, of Lenapah, Oklahoma passed away Monday, May 16, 2016 at The Journey Home hospice house in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.

Sharon June Dermer was born August 9, 1943 in Merino, Colorado, the second of four children to Edward and Mildred (Werner) Dermer. Sharon grew up and attended school in Merino, Colorado.

On June 9, 1963, Sharon married Larry Arthur Reitz in Sterling, Colorado. Following their marriage they lived in Missouri and Colorado. They moved to Caney, Kansas in 1973 and then to rural Lenapah, Oklahoma in 2003.

Sharon was a dedicated home-maker, and also served others by teaching in local schools and clothing stores. Sharon was a talented woman who enjoyed music, piano lessons, playing piano for several churches, and working outside of the home sewing, gardening and yard work, decorating, and especially cooking and baking for her family. She was a godly woman and faithful to her Lord Jesus Christ.

Survivors blessed by her memories include her husband, Larry Reitz of the home; one son, David Reitz of Rockwall, TX; two daughters, Julie Martin of Eureka Springs, AR. and Tami Harris of Lenapah, OK; eight grandchildren; and two brothers, Warren Dermer of Sterling, Co. and Bryan Dermer of Sterling, Co. She was preceded in death by her father, Edward Dermer; her mother, Mildred Dermer; and her sister, Elaine Amen.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 20, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Potts Chapel Funeral Home of Caney, Kansas, with her nephew Scott Dermer officiating. Internment will follow at the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery near Tyro, Kansas. Friends and family are invited to the visitation on Thursday, May 19th at Potts Chapel from 6-8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to The Journey Home hospice house at 3406 SE Kentucky Street, Bartlesville, Ok 74006. Contributions can be left with the funeral home. Online condolences can be shared at www.pottsfuneralhome.com.
