Nancy Camille Wade

February 16, 1939 — March 18, 2024

Caney, Kansas

Nancy Camille Wade—85 years old

Nancy earned her heavenly wings on March 18th 2024.  She was born February 16, 1939 to Bud and Rachel Kilgore in Delaware Oklahoma.   Bud and Rachel later divorced and Rachel married Everett White who raised Nancy as his own and she took the name Nancy White.

She attended school in Caney Kansas.

She married Russell Wade in 1958.  They had two children.  Son Larry and Daughter Cindy.  They made their home in Caney.  Through her life she worked at Harvey’s Restaurant, Lingle’s Five & Dime, Estes Superette Grocery Store and retired from ACC/Standard Motors.

She was a long-time member of Tyro Christian Church and lived her life for Christ.

Nancy enjoyed dancing.   She loved being Grandma, playing dominos, uno, rummy royal and Yahtzee.  Her favorite family game was rummy royal, where she would somehow be holding the chip cards, saying they are not for sale and would throw away point cards to sabotage everyone’s hands.

She hated winter but loved summer.  Spending weekends at Havana Lake skiing, swimming and cooking out.

She was an animal lover and would take any strays that came along including dogs, cats, raccoons, opossums and any other animals that needed to be fed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Joy Lee, her husband Russell, brother-in-law John, and nephew A.J.

Left to honor her memory are Son Larry (Krista) Wade, Daughter Cindy (Jeff) Blakemore, Sister Dale Marie Haughn, Grandchildren Lanie Blakemore (Johnny), Alyssia (Mike) Swazey, Samantha (Zach) Burris, and Heath (Kari) Wade.  GG to Braxton (Wade), Saylor and McCoy (Swazey) and Jasper (Wade).   Several Nieces and Nephews.

To know her was to love her.   She had many friends who loved her and will miss her dearly.

A Celebration of Nancy’s Life will be held at Potts Chapel in Caney, Kansas on Friday, March 29, 2024 at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be left in her honor for AWOL of Independence Kansas.
