Max Irwin Roe, 97 passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at Pleasant Valley Manor in Sedan, Kansas.
Max was born on October 5, 1922 in Imperial, Nebraska to Abigil D. and Edith N. (Gingles) Roe. As a child, Max grew up on a farm outside of Imperial, NE and Saint Francis, Kansas. On September 17, 1942, Max married Bernice Virginia Brown in Saint Francis, Kansas. In 1964 the two moved to Commerce City, Colorado, where they made their home for several years before relocating to Caney, Kansas. Max worked as a conductor for the Burlington Northern railroad for many years. Max loved to fish and stay busy with woodworking projects. He was a jack of all trades; he could fix anything. Most of all Max loved his dear wife Bernice and his family.
He is preceded by his wife, Bernice, sons, Darrel and Dallas Roe, and his parents.
Max’s memory will carry on with his grandsons, Danial Roe of Montana, and Thomas Roe of Colorado, daughter in-law, Nancy Roe of Caney, and grandchildren, Logan and Danialle Roe. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Potts Chapel. The family is planning a service at a later date.
