Max Jerry Crocker, 83, passed away on March 10, 2025, in Smithfield, NC. He was born on September 26, 1941, in Caney, KS.
After graduating high school, Max enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. Following his service, he attended the University of Tulsa, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. He dedicated his career to working as a pipeline engineer until his retirement.
Max had a deep love for airplanes and could often be found fixing things, always eager to tinker and make something work again. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who brought warmth, wisdom, and strength to his family.
He is survived by his loving wife, Vicki Crocker; his son, Chris Crocker of Kansas; his daughters, Kelly Velat of Oklahoma and Ashley Madden of North Carolina; his sister, Carolyn Baker, along with numerous nieces and nephews; his nine beloved grandchildren; and his three great-grandchildren.
Max will be laid to rest alongside his parents, Maxine and Carroll, and his brother, Mickey.
A memorial service will be held at Potts Chapel in Caney, KS, on March 28 at 1:00 PM, followed by interment at Sunnyside Cemetery.
