John Matthews Sr.

John Clinton Matthews Sr. 51 (36) of Caney Kansas passed away at Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville, Oklahoma on March 21, 2020.

John was born in Bartlesville, Oklahoma on March 22, 1968 to Garland and Karen (Provence) Matthews.

John was married Debbie Watts on December 21, 2009. John owned and operated NEW TO YOU furniture. In his free time, he enjoyed spreading the word of God, spending time with his family, hunting and fishing, and watching the Pittsburgh Steelers.

John is preceded in death by 2 grandchildren.

John is survived by his wife Debbie and their children Christa, Megan (Sterling), Bubba, Mallory (Justin), Melynda, and Corey, grandchildren, Ollie, Ben, Kadence, Leo, Jalil, Kourtlyn, Lauklin, and Abigail, mother Karen, sisters Sharon, Lindy, Annie, and uncle Richie. As per John’s wishes, cremation has taken place under the direction of Potts Chapel. A celebration of John’s life will be held at a later date so that John’s memory can be truly honored by all his family and friends. In lieu of flowers a memorial donation may be given to the Caney Valley Recreation Commission assigned to the ballfields.
