Garland Lloyd

Garland "Gary" Lloyd age 72, of Caney passed away on March 10, 2017 at the Caney Guest Home Estates.

Gary was born in Caney on November 17, 1944 to Claude and Myrtle (Samuel) Lloyd. Gary attended and graduated from Caney High School. After high school Gary was united in marriage to Floretta Casey, to this union the couple was blessed with two sons and a daughter. Gary found employment with Williamson's Gas Company where he retired as a foreman in 2000. Gary enjoyed working in his garden, fishing, hunting, camping, traveling, and working on tractors. He had a great personality, always new how to lighten the mood and was the best jokester around. Gary will be remembered most as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and genuine friend.

Those left to cherish his memory are; his wife Floretta, sons; Wesley wife Sherrie Lloyd and Travis, wife Starla Lloyd, daughter Debra Sanders, brothers; Bill and Bob Lloyd, sister; Kate Van, grandchildren; Bonda Frank her fiancé Ron Doheny, Larin Lloyd and wife Kara, Samuel Lloyd, and Larisa Lloyd her fiancé Justin Pack, great-grandchildren; Brycen Frank, Joshlynn Frank, Gracie Doheny, and Kaederay Lloyd. He was preceded in death by his parents, numerous brothers, sisters, son-in-law, Clifford Sanders, and grandchildren; Brock Sanders, Tonnie Lloyd, and Trevor Lloyd.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at 2:00pm at Potts Chapel of Caney with Pastor Kevin Fogerty of Chautauqua Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow at Sunnyside Cemetery. The family suggests memorials to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice and they may be left in care of the Chapel.
