Ella May Folk

Ella May Folk, 79 of Tyro, Kansas passed away at her home on Saturday, April 29, 2023. A Celebration of Ella’s life will be held at Robbins Cemetery on Thursday, May 11^th at 1:00 pm.

Ella May was born in Caney, Kansas on August 27, 1943, to Orie and Emma (Haughn) Todd. Ella May attended and graduated from Caney Valley High School. On June 4, 1960, Ella married Gary Folk in Dearing, Kansas. Ella worked as a seamstress, making custom drapes to be sold all over the United States. In her spare time, she loved to make baby quilts. Many of her friends and family were blessed with quilts made by Ella May. She even carried a few in the truck to hand out to friends and people she met while she was out. Ella will be remembered as a loving and caring wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Orie and Emma Todd, brothers, AD Todd, and Elbert Todd, sisters, Lola Syslo, and Linda Ashmore.

Her memory will live on with her husband, Gary Folk, son, Kevin and wife Tina Folk, daughter, Kristine and husband Dale Allen, sister, Emma Lou Sexton, grandchildren, Nick Shufeldt, Kyle Smith, Amanda Neal, Zachary Sundquist, Kacie Kendrick, Justin Folk, Ashlynn Moore, and Katelynn wood, and 8 great grandchildren.
