Obituary

Elizabeth “Ann” Pinard, 89, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication, and family. She was born on March 23, 1937, in Franklin, Georgia, and lived a life of hard work, compassion, and devotion to those she loved most.

On August 29, 1960, Ann married Marshon Pinard in Franklin, Georgia. Together, they began their journey in Wichita before settling in Chautauqua County, Kansas, where they took over the family farm. It was there that Ann built a home and a life filled with cherished memories, residing there for more than 60 years.

Ann was known for her strong work ethic and commitment to helping others. She spent over thirty years working in doctors’ offices and hospitals in Caney, Kansas, specializing in insurance, where she became a trusted and familiar presence. After retiring, she volunteered at the elementary library in Sedan, Kansas for several years, where she was beloved by the students and often spent time reading to them.

Above all, Ann’s greatest joy came from her family. She took immense pride in her children and grandchildren, who were the center of her world. She loved gathering with family, where she could often be found enjoying a good book, working on puzzles, or playing games that brought laughter and togetherness.

She is survived by her loving children: son Mike Pinard and his wife Nancy of Chautauqua, Kansas; and daughter Janice Spradling and her husband David of Pawhuska, Oklahoma. She also leaves behind four cherished grandchildren: Beth Megonigle and her husband Chris of Wichita, Kansas; Shon Pinard of El Dorado, Kansas; Jason Spradling of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; and Anna Spradling of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Ann was also blessed with one great-grandchild, Olive Megonigle of Wichita, Kansas.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marshon, her parents, two brothers, and three sisters.

Ann will be remembered for her kindness, resilience, and unwavering devotion to her family. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

A memorial service will take place Saturday June 20th, 2026, at 10:30am at the Chautauqua Southern Baptist Church. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Ann’s life and the wonderful impact she made on everyone who got the opportunity to meet her.
