Dolores Thompson, 80 of Severance, Colorado passed away December 14, 2016 at her home. Dolores June Jones was born May 22, 1936 in Coffeyville, Kansas, fourth of five children to Floyd James and Thelma May (Curran] Jones. She was raised in Coffeyville, attending schools there, graduating from Field Kindley High School in 1954. She lived in Coffeyville her entire life except for the last ten years when she moved to Colorado to be with family.
Dolores and John were married July 1, 1955, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Together they have three children. Gardening, as well as her family, was her favorite pastime. She spent all of the growing season tending to her flowers, vegetables, and fruit. She also enjoyed sewing and needlework.
Survivors blessed by her memory are her husband John of the home; two daughters, Dorena (and Jim) Gay of Richmond, Texas and Amy (and Mark) Rhodes of Buffalo, KS; and son, Howard (and Chera) Thompson of Severance; eight grandchildren, and two great grandchildren,

Family will greet friends at Potts Chapel Funeral Home in Caney, on Monday, December 19, 2016, between 3:00 and 5:00pm. Graveside Celebration of Life Service is scheduled for 2:00pm, Tuesday, December 20, 2016, at Havana Cemetery, Havana, Kansas, with Nathan Boldt officiating.
