Delores Freisberg, 86, passed away on April 30th, 2022. A graveside service will take place Tuesday, May 10th, 2022, at the Sunnyside Cemetery in Caney, Kansas at 10:00am. Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer Association and can be left with Potts Chapel.
Delores was born on August 30th, 1935, to Lloyd and Evelyn Stockwell in Eureka, Kansas. Several years after she graduated from high school in Paola, KS, her family moved to Caney, Kansas where she met her husband, Fred Freisberg. They married on May 29th, 1956.
Throughout their marriage they moved to various locations in Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, and Colorado for Fred’s job at Cities Service Gas Company. She had several jobs, during this time one of them being a gas meter reader for Cities Service. She was also a stay-at-home mother for her four children during the years before they started school.
She loved her family, she worried about them; she attended their extracurricular activities, supported them, enjoyed their company, and always showed her love for them. She enjoyed her grandchildren visits during the summer months, where they would pretend, she was server serving them their lunch. Fred and she enjoyed taking them each on vacation and showing them the country.
Delores loved her puppies that she had throughout the years, you seldom saw her without them.
She is survived by her daughters: Debra J. Steele and Paula (Michael) Ellis of Lawrence; son Michael D. (Jill) Freisberg of Eudora; seven grandchildren: Ryan Ellis, Ashlee (steven) Freeman of Lawrence, Stephan R. (Maureen) Freisberg of Massachusetts, Seth Freisberg, Caleb Freisberg of Oklahoma, Brett Freisberg, Molly Freisberg of Eudora; three great-grandchildren: Mason Ellis, Joe and Jacob Freeman of Lawrence; and her brother Floyd Stockwell of Iowa.
Preceding her in death were her husband Fred and son Stephen P. Freisberg, her parents Lloyd and Evelyn Stockwell, sister Connie Petterson and brother Robert Stockwell.
Delores’ family would like to extend a thank you for the excellent care she received at Star Living Assisted Living Home and to the Ascend Hospice that helped her and us go through this challenging time.
We will miss our mother, but knowing she will reunite with our dad, or as she would call him Freddy, helps our pain. God Bless them both, we will see them again soon!
