Dale Marie Haughn, age 74 of Caney passed away June 30, 2025.
Dale was born on July 19, 1950, in Caney, Ks to Everett Dale White and Rachel Marie White. She grew up in Caney and graduated from Caney Valley High School.
On January 27, 1972, she married the love of her life, John Haughn. The couple had four children, Shanna, Kristy, Amber, and Andrew John [AJ].
Dale Marie, affectionately known to many as mama Dale or Grandma Dale, was loved by many. She was a stay-at-home mom when her children were young, and she also did a lot of babysitting during those years. She later started working outside of the home, first as a cook for Red Maple restaurant in Caney, then The Caney Nursing Home and Caney Guest Home where she was currently employed as a cook. Cooking for and feeding people was definitely one of her well-known passions and she was very good at it as anyone could tell you. She also enjoyed gardening both inside with her many houseplants and outside with her regular garden, many flowers, and bushes. She enjoyed doing puzzles of all kinds, watching her soaps and evening tv shows, spending time with her family and playing with her dog Chewy. She could never tell anyone No, even when she should have.
Dale is preceded in death by her husband John, her son Andrew, two sisters, Joy Lee and Nancy Wade, grandson, Christuffer Roeder, brother-in-law Roger Haughn.
She is survived by three daughters, Shanna Fletcher (Wayne), Kristy Haughn, and Amber Scimeca (George). Grandchildren Chase Fletcher, Harley Fletcher, Lacee Roeder, Damien Haughn, Darien Hurlburt, Drako Berryman, Desiree Haughn, Savanna Scimeca, Hunter Scimeca, John Lee Haughn, Judd Godfrey, Jett Godfrey, and many great grandchildren.
