Bonnie Jean Perkins, 54, of Blackwell OK, formerly of Caney KS, passed away Thursday, April 27th 2017 at OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City, OK. Cremation has taken place by request of the family at Potts Chapel of Caney, KS. Services are pending and will take place at a later date. The family will receive friends for a visitation on Tuesday, May 2nd, 2017 at 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Potts Chapel in Caney, KS.

Bonnie Jean Perkins was born November 29, 1962 in Coffeyville KS. She was the daughter of Dewey Carter Perkins and Shirley Mae (Sitsler) Perkins. Bonnie attended school in Caney and graduated from Caney High School in 1981. Bonnie also attended college where she received a Bachelor Degree in Nursing Home Administration. She was the Administrator of the Silver Crest Manor Nursing Home in Anadarko OK at the time of her death. Bonnie served over 38 years in several Nursing Homes in Oklahoma. Bonnie started as a dietary aid at the Caney Nursing Home and then while attending school she worked at Forrest Manor Nursing Center in Dewey OK and received her LPN License.

Bonnie has lived in Blackwell Oklahoma for the past three years moving from Caney KS. Bonnie loved to read, crochet and enjoyed visiting casinos in her spare time. Most of all she
loved to spend time with her family, playing games with nieces and nephews.

Bonnie is survived by her mother Shirley Perkins of Caney KS, brother Allen L Perkins and wife Chris of Bixby OK, two sisters Linda Scott and husband Tom of Copan OK, Karen Woods of Caney KS, two nieces and one nephew.

Bonnie is preceded in death by her father, sister Sherri Oyler, niece Shana Oyler and one nephew Tommy Scott.

In Lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial remembrances to the Caney City Library which can be left with Potts Chapel of Caney KS.
