Blaine Jenkins, 80, of Palm Springs, California, originally from Caney, Kansas, passed away June 29, 2014 after a long illness.
Blaine Elliott Jenkins was born May 1934 to Lloyd Bentley Jenkins and Flavia Lea Elliott Jenkins. He attended Caney schools graduating from Caney High School in 1952. It was said recently by one of his Caney school mates that cars were a major interest in Blaines years in Caney. This led him to study architecture at Kansas State University before attending design school in California. He was immediately employed in the auto industry excelling at auto interior design during a long and illustrious career.
He is survived by his companion of 39 years, Philip Chilson of Palm Springs, California several cousins, one of which being Ed Wakeland, Kansas City.
Celebration of Life Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 9, 2014, at the Potts Chapel in Caney, Kansas. Visitation services will be from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., at the Potts Chapel on the morning of service.
Private inurnment will follow at the Sunnyside Cemetery in Caney, Kansas.
Arrangements are under the care of Potts Chapel of Caney, Kansas.
