Dorthy Geraldine Flesher, of Sedan, passed away on the evening of her 98th birthday on June 20, 2019 in Caney, Kansas at the Guest Home Estates.
Dorthy was born in Sedan, Kansas, in 1921 to Wilbert and Helen (Eichorn) Moffit. She grew up in Peru as the middle child with her two sisters, Margaret Guier and Helen Morgan. Dorthy attended the Peru schools her whole life and graduated in 1939. She held many different occupations over the years, as a social butterfly her favorite position was at the Estes Grocery store, where she was able to talk to her neighbors and all of the customers who came in. She enjoyed gardening, animals, playing Chinese checkers, and teaching all of her grandchildren how to play Chicken Feet with dominoes. Dorthy was a member of the Methodist Church in Havana as well as the local VFW Auxiliary.
Dorthy was married to Benton Flesher in September of 1939 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. They were blessed with one son, Sonny Flesher, and three daughters, Evelyn Louise Ranabarger, Sue Stultz, of Caney, and Betty Ann Milican, of Caney. Her memory will be kept alive by her daughters Sue and Betty Ann as well as her 7 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 16 great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs.Flesher is finally at peace resting with her mother and father, both of her sisters, as well as her son Sonny, her daughter Evelyn "Louise", and the many friends she'd lost over the years.
A graveside service will be held to honor Dorthy Flesher Monday, June 24, 2019 at 10:00 am at the Fairview Cemetery in Niotaze, Kansas. Friends are invited to grieve with the family at this time. To leave the family a message of condolence, please visit www.pottsfuneralhome.com .
